Where Nature Make History

In São Paulo State (Brazil), rural producers contribute to the protection of the Atlantic Forest and promote the management of forest products, such as juçara and cambuci palm fruits. It is a strategy that integrates sustainable development and environmental conservation. The presence of Parque das Neblinas in the region fostered the creation of a network of owners who, since 2008, have been meeting to exchange knowledge, aiming at valuing the standing forest. With about 80% of the remnants of the Atlantic Forest inside private properties, this initiative is fundamental for the maintenance of forest and water resources in the greater São Paulo, in addition to the positive transformation of the local reality.
