Anytime someone was born, anytime someone died

Birth and death are the two essential moments that qualify the existence of any life. Through the dialect words describing rituals and traditions related to birth and death, we can trace the link between the individuals and the rural community they belong to. In the narration of this short documentary, members of the community and the community itself were born and died simultaneously. Nevertheless, solidarity and mutual aid accomplish a small profound miracle of rebirth and resilience. This miracle renovates each time someone is born and each time someone dies. This is the story of the traditions linked to birth and death in Coreno Ausonio, our small town in the province of Frosinone, in the words of memory of Antonio (Tonino) Buongiovanni, my father, born in 1944. "Parole di memoria" is a work dedicated to walks in nature, with my father, and to the expressions of our dialect that we evoke and celebrate.
