Kaguta Joel being a resident of Kasese himself, went on a lengthy investigative journey that affirmed that the residents are exposed to heavy metals as a result of Copper, Aluminium, and Zinc among others that have contaminated the mother water source, River Nyamwamba leading to disastrous diseases such as cancer.

Solomon Serwanjja is the Executive Director of the African Institute for Investigative Journalism (AIIJ). He is also a celebrated broadcast investigative journalist with 12 years of experience. Mr. Serwanjja has worked in several newsroom including NBS, NTV, KTN, UBC as an investigative Journalist reporting ground breaking investigations that have contributed to public discourse and social change. He is the winner of the 2019 BBC Komlar Dumor award, a prestigious award given to an outstanding journalist on the African continent.
