When Time Stops

Chelsey Dilhan is a licensed therapist and a new mother. As she’s getting ready to head to work, her babysitter fails to show up. Chelsey is running late and is forced to take her child to the office with her.
At her 3 o’clock appointment, Charlie Greenhall arrives. Their session begins and it becomes very clear that Charlie’s older adopted sister, Kate Greenhall, is the root of Charlie’s depression. Charlie’s mother died during childbirth and a few years ago her dad killed himself because he couldn’t take the pain of losing his wife any longer. This left Kate to take on the role of Charlie’s legal guardian. However, Kate blames Charlie for taking her family from her. Charlie expresses during her therapy session that she feels like a chore to Kate and not like a sister. Chelsey asks her how this makes her feel and immediately triggers Charlie. Time stops. Charlie gets up and begins to yell at Chelsey. As soon as she sits back down time resumes and Charlie answers Chelsey’s question by saying “I’m fine”.
After her appointment, Charlie arrives back home and enters the kitchen with her book where Kate is cooking dinner. They get into an argument and Charlie begins to explain how Kate has never tried to help her. Kate lists off a bunch of materialistic things that she has done for Charlie, but Charlie meant something completely different. Kate begins insulting Charlie, like she does daily, and Charlie begins to get lost in her mind and all she can hear is every insult that Kate has ever said to her. She sinks deeper in the darkness as she succumbs to her depression. She closes her book and begins to walk towards the washroom. She’s lost in the darkness.
She finally gets to the washroom and she can still only hear the insults in her head. She turns on the water in the shower and gets in fully clothed. She grabs the razor and slits both of her wrists. As soon as the blade pierces her skin the voices quiet. She collapses to the ground. Finally free of the darkness.
Kate begins to call for Charlie for dinner. When Charlie doesn’t answer she enters the washroom and finds Charlie’s lifeless body on the floor of the shower. She runs over to her, pulls her body out of the water and begins to cry over her body.
Later that evening, Kate storms into Chelsey’s office blaming her for Charlie’s death. Before she leaves she wishes Kate luck with her baby and says that she hopes she doesnt fail this child like she failed her sister. Chelsey is left shocked and crushed by the mistakes she has made. She cradles her baby and soothes the cries.
