Chetanpreet Singh is an Orlando based filmmaker. He studied film production at Punjabi University, India in 2014 and later moved to Florida to earn his master’s degree in Film Production from Full Sail University.
Most of his films rely heavily on the storytelling through cinematography which can be deduced from his early career as a photographer and a content writer for a magazine. He produced and directed his first short called "Un-faithful" s short film regarding the LGBTQ rights in India.
While studying at Full Sail he collaborated on over 10 short films. He started as the assistant camera in the film, Inshallah which has been nominated in the 2019 Suncoast Student Production Awards. And later worked as a cinematographer in the short film Bond, which was accepted in the “Global Peace Film Festival”.
The idea for Wheels was highly inspired by my very dear friend "Brock Davis". He was born with Cerebral Palsy which is a condition of the muscles.
From what I have observed over my years with him I feel in general there is no malice in the word, "disabled" but the idea however comes with a lot of preconceived ideas and stigmas. For instance, there is a huge difference in physical and intellect disability, I have always observed people being extra nice to him and then socially isolating him for no reason.
I wanted to play with this idea, to dig in and examine it in a way that's both entertaining, thought-provoking, and more than a little weird. With Wheels, I want to make something fun and crazy, that will make the viewers both laugh and think. At various times, the script is sad, hilarious, puzzling, and even a little sexy. I've crammed a lot into Wheels, and I really think you'll enjoy it.
