Camila Gomes is a cinematographer born in 1991, in Montes Claros (Minas Gerais, Brazil). Graduated in Advertising from Faculdades Integradas Pitagoras (Brazil), she's currently living and studying Tv and Film at Bray Institute of Further Education in Dublin, Ireland.
Camila started her career as a photographer back in 2011, and since then, she has worked for numerous professionals as a freelancer wedding photographer. Still in Brazil, she was responsible for running the indoor photos of Studio Melius and
Deborah Oliva Photography, where she obtained great experience and learned how to paint and draw with artificial lights.
In 2013 Camila started to work for a fashion blog called Let’s Go, which gave her loads of opportunity to shoot in differents location with differents types of lights and mainly to go to
important events of the area, including São Paulo Fashion Week (SPFW), where she worked as a photographer in 2013 and 2014.
Camila's work as videomaker started at Camaleão filmes, in her hometown. Through that experience she learnt many things that she decided to put into test by working as a camera assistant in a short film called Catatonico, shot in brazil in 2013, and selected at Hollywood Comedy Short Film, Cannes Festival Short Film Comic and Bahamas International Film Festival.
Latter on, alongside with a friend, she co-created Esparsos Films, through which she shot her first short film (Se-los, 2013) as cinematographer. The short was awarded as best photography in the Pequi Festival. Together, the same group shot 4 more shorts: Pequenos fatos encadeados, Flor e a Náusea, Palimpsesto and Parto, which was selected in Betim Festival.
In 2014, she was invited to be the dop of a show at Studio pop, in Tv Canal 20. She worked there until 2015, the year she decided to move to Ireland in order to study english and film.
There, she shot her first short film (What would you say to her?) as Director in 2015. Since then, Camila has been working as photographer in nightclubs for E17 photography and shooting commercial, music videos and workshop for Negative Space. She also has recently been working as camera trainee in a very well-known tv show called Vikings, shot in wicklow, Ireland.
Her first feature film as a cinematographer is scheduled to be filmed on July, 2018, in Brazil.
