"What's in a Name?"

Names are important to us as individuals. The way a teacher pronounces a student's name may affect the student more than people think. The Del Sur Broadcast Club took action to create a video illustrating the issue of teachers mispronouncing students' names at their school. As part of this effort, they conducted an interview with the Associate Superintendent for Diversity and Inclusion for Poway Unified School District to gain more insight into this important issue in PUSD.

In addition to filming and editing, the Broadcast Club students used AI technology for their read a loud within the video that shows the cultural significance of personal identity via one's name.
