Sarah Moll
was born in 1977 in Freiburg im Breisgau. After graduating from high school, she did an apprenticeship as a digital media designer at the television broadcaster of Saarland. In 2005 she obtained a Master of Arts in Directing at the Filmakademie Baden-Württemberg. She received the "Öngören Award for Democracy and Human Rights" for her film "The Unwanted". She has been working as a freelance director since completing her studies. In 2006 she worked as a guest lecturer at the Film Academy of the Universidad Católica in Chile as part of the Baden-Württemberg scholarship program. She took part in various panels, including the Berlinale Talent Campus, and was a juror at several film festivals. In 2016 she co-founded the Freiburg Media Academy and the filmmakers' network "Initiative Freiburger Film". In 2017 she was nominated for the Franco-German Journalist Award for her documentary short film series "Grenzland". In 2018 her German-French school film project "Together we are strong - Ensemble on est plus fort" was awarded with the Baden-Württemberg Youth Film Award.
