What is lost can never be found

This moody, atmospheric collaboration between the filmmaker and sound artist Ed Devane and also the 9th-century poet Cynewulf captures a haunting improvised performance at the "Giant's Tomb" in Ireland. By blending ancient and modern influences, the film embodies a sacrificial dissolution of self within a timeless landscape.
Presented as a dark, meditative experience, the work envelops the viewer in a sensory exploration of history, myth, and sound. It is an ode to the power of place, memory, and the artistic act as a ritual of transformation. The film plays with intertextuality, liminality and magik - inspired by the runic authorial sigils concealed in the poetry of Cynewulf. The poet’s work was divinely inspired, yet suffused with regret at his personal process of aging and decline. This hidden sacred place, playing host to new sacral rituals, is a respite from the totalising gaze of modernity.
