Tilo Turian is a 21 year-old filmmaker from Stuttgart, Germany. Having found his passion for motion picture early on, he turned it into his full-time career right after high school. Tilo worked on many commerical productions before setting out on the journey to direct his first ever documentary in 2023: "What If You Said YES?"
"What If You Said YES?" is a story of courage. My film making dreams were dashed straight out of high school when I got rejected by the prestigious Munich Film School. But I dared to say YES to another offer by an Indian entrepreneur to join him on tour with his international speaking career. This friendship with DanRam developed into more and more ambitious projects in various countries until we ultimately decided on making an impossible dream a reality - to make a documentary about the power of the word YES.
Little did we know that this dream would lead to life-changing friendships with the very inspiring cast of this documentary, would take us right into the heart of the action of these stories in Ghana, Charlotte and Haiti, and ultimately lead to this moment of submitting our efforts to your film festival.
This film is a reflection of our own journey—the power of embracing opportunities, the strength found in persistence, and the beauty of the unexpected outcomes that come from choosing to say yes.
This is a lifelong dream come true. The cast and crew’s greatest wish with the film is that it will inspire others to say YES to life and see how that transforms their lives and those around them.
