A story about Abdi's uphill struggle to win his father's love who, 10 years later, still mourns the tragic death of Abdi's elder brother (Ali). After another major setback for Abdi, he finds a new motivation through Temi, his loyal friend since childhood. But when results don't come fast enough, he makes a rash decision which comes with a devastating consequence.

Director Biography - Alexander Osman

Alexander Osman, is a multi-award-winning writer and director on a mission to explore the darker side of the human psyche through moving, character-driven narratives that challenge societal and cultural preconceptions with the ultimate goal of revealing the innate light in us all. Highlights include the drama 'Beneath the Surface', shown at festivals around the world
ncluding Ireland’s prestigious Kinsale, IFF Berlin and Edinburgh’s fringe. His docudrama 'This Little Place in Gospel Oak', included screenings at London Independent Film Festival and Open City Docs. He has also made films for the likes of Jaguar Land Rover, Visit Britain, Monotype, Currys, Film 4’s Docs and 1000 Londoners.

"At first look, What We Hide is a dramatic story about a man, Abdi, suffering from deeprooted PTSD. Through the narrative, we witness the choices he faces as he attempts to satisfy his family and fulfil his neglected potential. But as we dive deeper, we realise Abdi’s troubles are shared by his family and offer a reflection of the unseen, untold and overlooked hardships that beset refugees all over the world."
