What Keeps Me Going

“What Keeps Me Going,” is a feature documentary of ‘Papa Joe’ told through the lens of his granddaughter. Joe Davis, takes us down memory lane, from farming in rural South Carolina to teaching the Vietnamese during the Vietnam War. Davis reaches far back and takes us down memory lane on what truly keeps him going, every day.

Director Biography - Emma J.

Having lived in major cities such as Atlanta, Los Angeles, New York and South Africa, Emma Jackson, a Durham, NC native is an Award-Winning Documentary Producer for Target St. Louis Vol. 1, winner of Best Documentary at Urban World. She is currently working on her first feature documentary.

She has worked on productions for A&E, 4910 Rosalie Productions, ABFF Honors, Empower Global, and more!

Emma is also a graduate of Spelman College.

Director Statement

I am beyond happy to be able to have sat down with my grandfather and finally record the stories I knew and the ones that I did not. I think it's imperative we capture our elder's stories now and keep them for generations to come. I am grateful for my mom and aunts who helped me create this!
