Experiencing Interruptions?

What Am I?

What is the difference between how the world perceives us and how we perceive ourselves?

I am a disability and rural-based Portuguese-Canadian artist and the dancers in this film have similarly complex identities (Mennonite-Métis-Francophone, Queer-Francophone, Portuguese-Canadian, Chinese-Canadian, Korean-Canadian, or just Canadian).

This dance-film explores diverse lived and perceived Canadian identities through the lens of diverse Canadian artists.

"What Am I?" has started and will continue to be screened across Western and Northern Canada as part of SQx Dance Company's Active Inclusion Program (AIP). AIP is a socially conscious dance program created to disrupt racism, discrimination, intolerance, and hate in youth populations as a method for increasing awareness about:

- Canada's cultural diversity
- Issues affecting underrepresented populations in fully participating in society

In "What Am I?" How can be respectfully come together and belong, but not all be the same?
