Wetland

Sandra, a separated housewife, escapes from her routine for a weekend to travel with her cousin to the village where they used to spend their summers when they were young. There, she will be captivated by a house full of memories and a wet nature that, through strange manifestations, will generate changes and sensations in her dry and cracked body, leading her to confront what she thought was dormant: her sexuality.

Director Biography - Rossana Castillo-Méndez

Rossana Castillo is a Chilean director, screenwriter and editor. She graduated from the Audiovisual Direction career at the Pontificia Universidad Católica de Chile. Her first fiction short film, Piter (2019), had its world premiere at the Guadalajara Film Festival (FICG) and won the Jury Prize at the University Short Film Festival (FUC). It was also part of the official selection at several national and international festivals such as Huesca International Film Festival (HIFF), Sao Paulo International Short Film Festival - Curta Kinoforum (SPFF), La Plata Latin American Film Festival (FESAALP), Santiago International Film Festival (SANFIC).
Humedal ( 2024) is her second short film, financed by the Chilean Audiovisual Fund, winner of the WIP Color Correction Award at the Chilean Film Festival 2024. She is currently developing and writing her first fiction feature film La oveja trasquilada, which participated in the Confluencias laboratory of the Ñuble Film Festival and in SANFIC LAB, where it won a direct pass to EICTV's Nuevas Miradas.
