Nicolas Lesaffre is a French animation director and toy designer currently residing in Hong Kong.
Graduated from Supinfocom/Rubika in 2004, Nicolas debuted his career in feature film working on the first 3D animated film directed by Luc Besson with a voiceover casting the likes of Madonna, Snoop Dog, David Bowie, and Robert De Niro.
As an animation director, Nicolas has worked in Paris, London, Los Angeles, and Hong Kong where he co-founded the creative animation production NIKOPICTO working seamlessly between the worlds of advertising and digital entertainment.
Nicolas never stopped developing his own colorful and humorous universe, character design-driven through illustration and short animation films, creating IP's, original content, and designing toys.
Over the years Nicolas has created a colorful palette of films, illustrations as well as projection mapping, and augmented reality projects for clients such as Gucci, Lacoste, Wechat, Nissan, VW, American Express, Mc Donald's, Hong Kong Tourism Board, Singapore Tourism Board, CCTV...
Nico's film work has been awarded and showcased in many international film festivals and advertising publications such as Shots Magazine, Luerzer’s Archive, Motionographer, Stash Media, Cannes Lions Festival, Annecy International Animation Film Festival, Stuttgart International Festival of Animated Film, Australian International Animation Festival and many more.
