We are the spark
We are the spark is a poetic ode to the fragile balance of Nature, threatened by human activity. Under the blazing sun of the Fontfroide Massif, the spark ignites fire, destructive but regenerative. From the ashes, a fertile land is reborn, where flora and fire intertwine in a dance that is both frightening and fascinating.

Jacob Redman is a director and photographer. As a teenager, he developed a passion for images by making his first report. In 2007, he joined the InsightShare team, world leader in participatory video and specialized as an editor. He participated in around a hundred short films for NGOs (United Nations, Unicef, etc.) on various issues (impact of climate change, empowerment of marginalized and indigenous people, restorative justice, etc.).
At the same time, he obtained a license in digital film art at the University Creative Arts (UK) and became passionate about photography. Back in the south of France in 2012, he became head of the audiovisual center for the GRAPh-CMI in Carcassonne and teaches for the Photojournalism and Transmedia DU at the University of Perpignan and the Fabrique des Arts de Carcassonne.
In 2016, he encouraged with others the creation of KOVisuel, an association of audiovisual and photographic production and image education, centered around the themes “social”, “culture” and “environment”. Between 2017 and 2019, he directed his first feature documentary Des Couacs et des Poètes. In 2021, during a territory residency, he refined his gaze with the País de flors project, where he photographed and filmed the Pyrenean flora. Recently, he decided to make short video portraits, such as The French Cowboy (1st documentary prize at Røde Reel festival) and Subversive.
