After many lost finals and 36 years of dreaming about it, millions of hearts stopped beating, not just for Argentinians: The world wanted to see Lionel Messi raising the World Cup in what could possibly be his last chance. Time slowed down and all expectations were placed on Gonzalo Montiel: Penalty shootouts and the duty to decide who wins. With his powerful shot, he gave Argentinians what they had been dreaming of, and they were crowned 2022 FIFA World Cup champions for the third time in Qatar.
