We Can Voyage There
Tonight, Project Revelations announces whether or not life exists outside of Earth. Eager to hear the results are Chloe, a young high schooler who can't help but look beyond, and her mom Deb, who once was on her way to getting an advanced degree in space studies but now works at Gizmo's Electronics. Told through the shifting fantasies of Chloe's mind while stuck at home during the height of a pandemic, the question looms: Could this be all there is?

"We Can Voyage There" is Millan's directorial debut. Mainly an actor, she and Peter Friedman hit the festival circuit with Lena Hudson's "Daddy's Girl" (Sundance/SXSW) last year. Other TV credits include "Fosse/Verdon," "Tales of the City," "Katy Keene" and "Almost Family." Onstage, she has appeared on Broadway in Tom Stoppard's Tony-Award Winning "Leopoldstadt" and "Present Laughter" opposite Kevin Kline. Other theater credits include: "Power of Sail" with Bryan Cranston, Sarah DeLappe's "The Wolves" (Drama Desk & Obie Awards) and Jesse Eisenberg's "Happy Talk" opposite Susan Sarandon.
Originally adapted from a short story by David Lerner Schwartz, "We Can Voyage There" was set to start production in April 2020. Naturally, we had to postpone. Being that this film is centered around isolation and longing, it ultimately helped to enhance these themes by reimagining it to be set in a Covid-ajacent world. This film explores the yearning for more while understanding that what we have may just be perfect.
