We Are Just Soldiers

July 7, 1944, the war is at its most brutal point. Felix Hartman, a young German soldier with an uncommon perspective on the war, begins to question all he was taught in the German army. After a situation leaves Hartman face to face with Canadian Soldier, Private Ralph Anderson, he must decide whether to betray his values or betray his country.

Director Biography - Saffron Bisiker

Saffron Bisiker is a director, writer, and actor, from Vancouver Island, Canada. She began her career in the performing arts at the age of five, appearing in local plays around Qualicum Beach. At the age of twelve, she shifted her focus to film and TV, taking several film and acting classes in Nanaimo. Since then, she has directed, written, and produced several films, including the World War II short film We Are Just Soldiers and won the CineCentral's Best Film award for her one-minute short film Karen, which she worked on with her best friend. In 2023, she founded and produced the Qualicum Beach Film Festival for her high school capstone project. Saffron continues to create thought-provoking and innovative films while pursuing a separate career in archeology.
