We Are Different
In this short film, a fresh, sunny day is depicted in the streets of London. "We Are Different" is a story centred around race discrimination and a new generation that has a different outlook. Following Summer, a 15-year-old white girl who finds happiness and love with Justen, a black 15-year-old boy, the story unfolds. However, Summer faces a tough challenge with her mother, who prohibits her from dating someone of colour.

Ali was born and grew up in Eastern Libya. He got inspired by Egyptian cinema to take his first steps into the film industry. In 2017 he flew to London to begin his film-making career.
I couldn’t be prouder even if I tried; as a writer and director for this film, I wanted to express the way I feel as well as what I see as a huge issue in life nowadays. In other words, how we could live in an educated and developed society that still judges people by the colour of their skin or what culture they coming from. I've been told that the best way to send a message or to express your thoughts and feelings is by writing down on an empty page and I was lucky to have this film written down with the help of others.
