Director Statement

"Way Out" is deeply personal to me, born from a wave of nostalgia after moving home. As I rediscovered my father's old DVD player, memories of us watching movies and music videos together flooded back. That DVD player was more than just a device; it was a gateway to magical moments that shaped my childhood.

When I tried to relive those memories by playing the DVD player, it didn't work. Yet, instead of letting that disappointment take over, I found a way to bring those memories to life again through my imagination and creativity. This film is a reflection of that process—a journey of finding new possibilities when the old paths are blocked. It embodies my belief that when something doesn't work, we must find a way to recreate and reimagine it.

As a 17-year-old filmmaker, I’m always searching for ways to break free from limitations, both in life and in art. "Way Out" is not just about nostalgia; it’s about pushing beyond what no longer functions and finding new ways to express old emotions. This is my personal way out.
