Cinema
Set against the backdrop of Mogadishu’s old Italian village of Hamar Weyne, Shaleemo is a poignant black-and-white short film that captures the dreams, struggles, and bond of two teenage boys, Sami and Hassan.
Sami, the son of a cinema owner, grows up surrounded by the magic of films, while Hassan, the son of a conservative fisherman, battles his father’s disapproval of cinema and his own unyielding dreams of storytelling.
