Writer Statement

I am a storyteller. In my work as a curator and as an artist, I believe that the human propensity to tell stories is a hardwired survival strategy, a way to bond with clans and kinsmen, and a critical artistic practice that allows us to imagine the “other” -- the other experience, the other person, the other side of a myriad of fences. Stories can change minds and hearts. Stories can start wars. Stories can bring together the worst of enemies.
