Best Student Film
Nicholas Egizio is a student filmmaker who specializes in creating short films using simple cinematography techniques in modern and inventive ways. After working with an executive from AMS pictures, it's highlighted his artistic and twisted outlook on cinematography.
'Wasps and the Rain' was an opportunity for me to experiment with my filmmaking style to create a very messed-up trip into the mind of a normal everyday guy. The film contains messages of manipulation and gaslighting that are used against the protagonist in order to feed the antagonist's capitalistic ambitions. It's a type of story that I've never done before. But, for better or for worse, I've had a blast with it.
