Wanted: Natasha Paris

As a teen, Natasha Paris wrote 30 feature screenplays, which served as a practice run until she was old enough to study screenwriting at the university. For BBR Productions, a renowned Montreal-based film production company specializing in dramatic broadcast media, Natasha worked on EMOTIONAL ARITHMETIC (Susan Sarandon, Max Von Sydown, Gabriel Byrne, and Christopher Plummer); ENTER THE VOID, directed by Gaspar Noé, and more.

Natasha’s first short SOLITUDE was screened in more than 6 national and international film festivals including Rhode Island and Brno 16 Film Festival. Her short COMPULSION 1897 was screened at such festivals as the Delray Beach Film Festival, Clermont-Ferrand Film Market, and Cannes’ Short Film Corner. She wrote and directed EMPTY CALORIES (winner of a WorldFest Houston Film Festival Bronze Remi Award and screened on KERA TV as part of the Frame of Mind program in Fall 2017) and MARGARITAS ON THE ROAD, her second short sponsored by Cirque du Soleil. She won the Chick Flicks 2013 Promo Script Contest with the screenplay DON'T HAVE TO BE A CHICK TO ENJOY CHICK FLICKS. Most recently, Natasha’s Dallas 48 Hour Film Project, SOMETHING BORROWED, SOMEONE BLUE won Best Film, Best Writing as well as Best Cinematography. Natasha was recently hired as the producer, writer, and director for 7 Public Service Announcements for Women In Film Dallas. Her screenplays have been rewarded with numerous nominations, especially THE ZODIAC DATER whic won the Scriptapalooza Fellowship and most recently PANDORA’S VOODOO - her first draft made it as a Second Rounder at the Austin Film Festival. So far, Natasha’s short films have been screened in more than 20 various national and international film festivals.

Born French Canadian, Natasha’s origins are a melting pot: Greek, Turkish, French, Serbo-Croatian and Haitian. By embracing her ethnicities/cultures and her femininity, she brings into play unique wits and cultural backgrounds. Since she started to write at the age of 14, she knew she would use her voice to share her fervency for esoteric subjects through unique perspectives to challenge the status quo ways of thinking in a fun, entertaining way.
