Experiencing Interruptions?

Walking in my shoes

WALKING IN MY SHOES encourages forms of justice that give, or restore, a place to each person in society, regardless of their more or less damaged background.
The camera follows a small, heterogeneous group that learns to discover itself as it goes along: people who have been released from prison for the occasion, who have generally lost all confidence in the institutions, students in political science who aspire to become actors in these same institutions, prison officers and judges.
An external path for an internal path to live together.

Director Biography - FABRICE GAND

After graduating from the Conservatoire National Supérieur de Musique de Paris, I travelled through the concert halls, specialising in baroque music, between 1998 and 2010 (Opera Fuoco, Les Musiciens du Louvre, Pygmalion, Il Seminario Musicale, Seville Baroque Orchestra, European Union Baroque Orchestra...).
I then turned to counselling and I now practice mediation (conflict management) for families and organisations. I also run workshops and trainings on communication to foster a world of inclusion.
I like to combine art and social issues, so I wrote Les Amants sur la brèche, dialogues in Jerusalem, a version freely inspired by the story of Romeo and Juliet set in the Israeli-Palestinian conflict, a play performed in Bordeaux in 2019.
After having run courses in prisons, I wanted to show the humanity of the people who lived and worked there, and to see together what brings us together. I initiated the Rand'Honneur action, and the film À ÉGALITÉ ("Walking in my shoes") was born from this powerful experience.
