Walking Against the Rain
WALKING AGAINST THE RAIN tells the story of two strangers, Blair and Tommy who are navigating their way across a barren landscape in a desperate attempt to find each other. With their only form of communication being two soon-to-die battery operated radio mics and with a new evil monster in the shape of 'The Forsaken' tracking them down, they must learn to confront loss and rediscover a trust in humanity.
With full body practical creature effects from BIFA award winning FX designer Dan Martin (Possessor, Color Out of Space, In the Earth)

Scott Lyus is an indie filmmaker from Chelmsford, England. Having started his love affair with film from a young age, Scott decided against film school and instead kick started his short film career in 2012 with the home invasion thriller Supernova. Followed in 2013 by the critically acclaimed cult horror Order of the Ram.
In 2015 Scott would return to the short film scene with Silently Within Your Shadow, starring horror legend Bill Moseley as the voice of 'Hugo'. The film would go on to screen at 75+ film festivals worldwide.
In 2017 Scott delivered paranormal short thriller Echoes of the Passed, which would go on to play several festivals worldwide including the legendary Shriekfest Film Festival and the Starburst International Film Festival from Starburst Magazine, where it was awarded Best Short Film 2018.
Scott would then make his final short film in 2019 - Black Mass. Which was to be his most successful short film to date, premiering at Panicfest in the US and Frightfest in the UK. The film would have a lengthy festival run, running into late 2021, along the way picking up various awards and nominations, including Best Screenplay and Best Actor at the 2020 Starburst International Film Festival.
Now in 2022, Scott returns with his debut feature film - Walking Against the Rain.
When I wrote Walking Against the Rain, I wanted to create a grounded, compelling and jaw-dropping exploration into a world where human connection, that we now so often take for granted, had been removed. A world where flora and fauna where flourishing without human interference.
How would we survive without human connection and constant communication?
And as a result, would we start to reassess how we look at basic level human interaction, and what it really means to be alone?
The underlying theme of Walking Against the Rain is an exploration into loss, grief and how our characters are coming to terms with a new life in an empty, but at times beautiful landscape, hidden within an old school practical effects end-of-the-world monster movie.
