“Wakka" is the indigenous Ainu word for “water". People's lives began by the riverside, and those who lived with nature had the ability to sense the flow of water on the earth. When asked, "Can you hear the voice of water?" what is necessary for art is the five senses to hear it. It is the "sense of wonder" and Lévi-Strauss's "Wild Thought”. Based on the Buddhist idea of "living with the dead," I depicted the water pipe as an accumulation of the wisdom and thoughts of our ancestors and the faucet as a metaphor for civilization.
