Director Statement

Waiting for Love was born from my desire to explore the themes of connection, loss, and the human need to escape reality. At its heart, this film is about two people from vastly different worlds who find solace in each other, only to discover that love alone isn’t enough to bridge the divide between them. Through Oliver and Kate’s journey, I wanted to capture the fragility of relationships, the impact of social disparity, and the existential longing we all experience at some point in life.

This film is deeply personal to me because it reflects the emotional turbulence of young adulthood—the search for meaning, the yearning for something greater, and the inevitable confrontation with reality when those dreams begin to fall apart. The story is set against a backdrop of romantic summer days, contrasted by the emotional weight of its characters' internal struggles. I aimed to create a visually stunning yet intimate experience, one that draws viewers into the characters’ world while leaving them with questions about love, identity, and the cost of trying to escape who we are.
