Saffron is a local Barnes Primary School pupil, selected at the Barnes Film Festival in 2019 for her and her brother, Raphael’s first short film - I DREAM OF ROBOTS. This really inspired her to create a different type of film, her first short documentary about a local performance artist who has a mysterious secret.
The White Rabbit tells the tale of a regular happening in Barnes on the first of every month. No-one knows who is behind these mysterious incidences. Perhaps this short film will open the door on Barnes’s best kept secret.
Over the last 5 years Saffron has completed her Music Theory and Creative Composition course level M:TEC Level Pro and has used her skills to decide on the musical choices alongside her brother Raphael. The M:Tech course provided a unique opportunity to participate in creative composition by combining traditional music theory with the latest creative technologies.
I LOVE rabbits.
I am very lucky that we have a very unusual rabbit who lives in our village and sits on the wall from 6 am, every 1st of the month for over 10 years. Rabbits are very sad when they are on their own, but this metaphorical rabbit burrows and delves into his ritual.
To understand the myth and folklores he lives in, I and my brother got up at the crack of dawn following his every move. A rare sight in a sleepy village in southwest London, which captures a secret, the artistic performer, his ritual, and how the lights around him change from dark to light.
Filmed in February 2020, has been awarded two laurel leaves, screened at two Film Festivals in London and Russia.
Old tales say, “RABBIT, RABBIT, RABBIT” is a phrase used to bring power and luck that the rabbit is to behold.
