Author's Valdas Mikolaitis
A self-taught film maker about nature and not just.
Author's Specialty Electrical Engineer,
nothing in common with nature nor cinema
There are not many Lithuanian films about nature, so the author tried to create it himself.
His first film, '' Gilinukai '', did not reach the viewers, but the author had a lot of experience.
In 2011, he began to intensively film solitary bees
And a few years of frustrating work has been created by the film ''Pavienės bitės'' ( Solitary Bee )
In 2013, the film "’Pavienės bitės " was presented to P.Abukevičius' name competition.
The film "’Pavienės bitės " evaluation committee evaluated how the best film of the year about Lithuanian nature was.
After that a creative stop followed by the author slammed into the Solitaire bee observations
2016-2017 years; created only short films ''Reality and Tales'' , ''Unexplained nature painting''
Since the beginning of 2018, he has begun to improve filming techniques for filming spiders.
In July, intense filming began until October
That's how the film ''Vorų ratilinis'' was created, which was also presented for the title competition of P.Abukevičius and became laureate.

Director Statement

I'll be happy if at least a few festivals agree to show my film.
This movie is not super high quality, the spiders were filmed in natural outdoor conditions in the dark with a weak lightning, so I do not think that the quality of the picture determines the film, much more important is the idea itself and the presentation of its content to the audience
