Helios was born in Mexico City in February 1979, he discovered his passion about arts during highschool (National Institute of Arts, Mexico), where he specialized in Plastic Arts (Sculpture).
He got a degree in Journalism. But he did not begin his audiovisual career until 2009, when he started producing TV commercials and corporate videos.
Since 2013, he has concentrated his efforts in cinematography and storytelling. In 2014 he was selected to be part of the Diploma in Storytelling and New Media, imparted by the Pedro Meyer Foundation and the World Press Photo. During the same
year he traveled to Cuba to attend the Workshop: Advanced Photography: digital cinematography.
His piece “Mother Earth” won the Ecofilm Festival 2015. In 2016, his work was official selection in the San Sebastian Advertising Festival. The same year he finished the documentary “The summit of your life” and in 2017 the second part “The Summit of your life: Otherness”, both were shown nationwide.
Helios has collaborated with several production houses as cinematographer and director of documentaries for brands like Gatorade, Red Bull, Salomon, Jack Daniel´s and
Syngenta, among others.
I believe in storytelling as a powerful tool to inspire people to push their boundaries, and become the main character of their own story.
