Vladyslav Detiuchenko, born on August 31, 1996, obtained his choreographic education from the Kyiv National University of Culture and Arts in 2019.
With 7 years of choreography and directing experience, and a decade in dance, he served as the artistic director of n'Era dance company for 3 years.
His life took a dramatic turn on February 24, 2022, with the onset of Russian aggression
against Ukraine, profoundly shaping his perspective on the role of art in the world.
In March 2022, amidst the conflict, Detiuchenko created the one-act dance piece "Mariupol - Song of Ukraine" remotely from a bomb shelter in Ukraine for Company E. Subsequently, due to the war, he relocated to the Netherlands.
Although Vladyslav's primary focus has been theater, he has discovered a new passion in filmmaking. He finds that the art of film offers him fresh means of expression and a new way to bring his ideas to life.
In 2020 he created his first dance film - "The Wall". The project was implemented in celebration of the 30th anniversary of the national holiday, the Day of German Unity. The main inspiration for the creation of this video work was a pivotal event in world history - the Fall of the Berlin Wall. The film was shown at Cinedans (The Netherlands), Bucharest International Dance Film Festival (Romania), Dance on Screen (Switzerland), Connect Contemporary Dance Festival (Romania).
His second film, "Rhythms of Resilience – Dance with Daily Risk," premiered nationally at the Virtual Residency during the Nederlands Dansdagen, supported by Korzo production. Film had weekly screening at Korzo Theater as a part of charity event "Light in Darkness". This film is deeply meaningful to Vladyslav, as it portrays how dancers continue to live and work even amid the ongoing conflict in his native Ukraine.
Vladyslav continues his research in dance and film with dedication, exploring new ways to combine these two art forms and aiming to create works that resonate both on stage and on screen.
