The Virginia Diasporic Communities Film Festival (VADCFF) is an annual celebration of filmmaking, visual storytelling and artistry. Our traditions celebrate the diverse cultures and identities that make up the state’s growing population. VADCFF is dedicated to presenting vibrant and unique stories from diasporic communities that live outside of their homelands but have made new roots in the Commonwealth.
HOMEGROWN: A 757 FILM EVENT
VADCFF cultivates an inclusive film experience, and brings together filmmakers, cinephiles, community stakeholders and diasporic communities that reside across Virginia, to enjoy exciting and passionate storytelling and artistry.
With the unique character and heritage of Coastal Virginia, Hampton Roads is home to a burgeoning filmmaking community. To show our appreciation for the 757 area, we’re featuring local filmmakers and artisans in our upcoming film event.
HOMEGROWN will support emerging and established filmmakers to showcase their extraordinary talents in film. We’re looking for innovative and standout short films that highlight the social and historical significance of varied cultures, ethnicities, and marginalized voices across Hampton Roads.
HOMEGROWN is a wonderful opportunity for filmmakers to tell their stories among their peers and invested audiences eager to see fresh, new films.
Special recognition awards will be presented at the HOMEGROWN 757 FILM EVENT:
• Best of 757 Short Film Award
• People’s Choice Film Award
