Donghoon Kim is a visual-artist-turned director. Ironically, his first noted award in the industry came in the category of "Music & Sound Design" in a short film competition.
While visiting Jeju volcanic island in South Korea, I accidentally discovered through my drone that what the tourists are seeing is very limited and even the locals do not seem to know how beautiful the island really is. This documentary is a compilation of more than a year-long shooting of selected tourist attractions.
But please don't expect this film to be one of those "usual" documentaries that are designed to educate or enlighten viewers on a pressing issue. Although it does have such a message in it--that nature is more beautiful and precious than we ever realized and as such it should be preserved--rather this is a son's gift to his old father who almost lost his ability to enjoy the natural world around him as well as to others who may have been deprived of such ability or opportunities. As more and more people are getting affected by advancing age and adverse conditions, the world needs more of this kind of relaxing and reassuring "documentaries."
