This might have been their first year, but Vienna Films Awards is off to a powerful start. Even though they are across the world from California, they responded quickly to my questions, and aided me with issues like uploading my DCP files (I am more creative than technically knowledgeable LOL). I also love that they invite audience members to view the films for free. I’ve attended too many festival screenings where it’s just the filmmakers (and their moms) in the theatre. VFA has found a great way to ensure filmmakers have a full house to enjoy their movies. And thank you so much for recognizing our film with the award for Best LGBTQ Short!! We are thrilled and look forward to screening another film there soon!

We are really proud to have been part of the first year's edition of the Vienna Film Awards! The festival team showed great effort in making the event a unique experience for everyone involved. The communication beforehand was excellent and is continuing in the same way after the event. We always felt very welcome and can highly recommend this festival to everyone!
Go help these guys grow bigger and welcome filmmakers from all over the world in the beautiful city of Vienna!

  • I had a great time attending to the event!

The quality of the short movies screened was impressive (some of them were among the best I have ever seen so far).
The organizers were kind, welcoming, and truly passionate about their job. They also made a brief interview to each filmmaker, to understand both the struggles each one faced in realizing their short, and their future projects.
The venue was great, in the very heart of Vienna and the attendance was sufficient.

Vienna Film Awards has ample margins for growth in the next future, so keep an eye on this guys and submit your work to them!

The Vienna Film Awards are, to my knowledge, one of the most remarkable film festivals now.
At this film festival, I felt certainty of policy, solidity, integrity, staff excellence, and exhilarating energy.
I am grateful that this film festival has fairly judged, selected, and praised the films we submitted to a large audience.
I recommend that as many directors as possible submit to this film festival!
