Since we started this annual event, we have received thousands of submissions from over 125 countries. At VFA we pride ourselves as being an international networking event where we celebrate creativity and originality. We aspire to promote and support independent filmmakers by hosting a variety of awards to provide the best opportunities for filmmakers. We proved interviews and Q&A’s with our award winners. VFA welcomes submissions from a range of genres including short films, documentaries, features, animations and screenplays.
VFA focus on the networking aspect of independent filmmaking. We aim to create a community of creatives which can pull from each-others expertise, exchange ideas and collaborate in a highly creative and inspiring atmosphere. We provide Networking Booklets that include information about each winner and ways to contact them. In the past we have seen this help build lasting relationships between filmmakers. Customised certificates, laurels and trophies are also provided to our award winners.
VFA opens its doors to film makers, enthusiasts and students alike who want to get their start in the industry by meeting and connecting with industry professionals. We strive to bring filmmakers from all over the world under one roof.
Each submission is judged by a jury of international industry professionals. They rate each submission on 10 different categories including cinematography, writing, pacing, and creativity. This helps us decide which submissions make it to the final stage where there will be jury group viewings to make sure we only pick the highest quality submissions.
We wish everyone the best of luck and hope to see you at our event this year!
