VICTORIA LONG is a filmmaker and producer based in Toronto, Canada. Working predominantly as a director and cinematographer, she has also worked as a producer, writer and musical artist for dozens of productions including music videos, documentaries, short films, and web series.
After graduating from York University's Film Production program she worked shooting mockumentary comedy with her cousin Ryan Long, creating content for BiteTV and The HardTimes. Their work was nominated for a Canadian Comedy Award for Best TV Show in 2015.
In addition to shooting two seasons of the popular Canadian web series Barbelle, she also directed episodes and acted as a creative producer. In 2018, she was selected for the Toronto International Film Festival’s 60 second short film competition in association with Instagram. The following year, she filmed Nancy’s Workshop (CBC), a short documentary which depicts a workshop in Montreal for young black girls who struggle with their hair. The documentary was an official selection for the 2020 Hot Docs Film Festival.
Her work has been screened at The Canadian Film Fest, Reelworld Film Festival, Black Femme Supremacy Film Fest, and QueerX Film Festival among others.
