Director Statement

"Residual value" is an insurance term as the film title “Viatical Settlement,” which means to expect the insured dies in order to get the benefit of the policy. Insurance is an important industry, but indirectly makes everyone to have its pricing. It is how the world runs even if it’s morally hard to accept. The movie was based on true stories, depicting the deepest human entanglement, complete destruction of “people’s value”, and the helplessness behind their stories.
