Night Reflections

A journey on the water, from the headlights of the vaporetto, new realities of light emerge.

Darkness squeezes human artifacts, thinning their boundaries.

The faint lights persist in their artificial presence.

Constructions resting on a broken mirror.

Fragments return images, distorted and complex.

Existing realities, but hidden from view, emerge.

The light is Byzantine decoration, lightning in the night, vision in the dark.

Bridges are patterns sewn on a tablecloth, houses on the water are wallpaper, "calli" (streets) and canals black chains.

Image expansion.

In the postcard city, always the same at the eyes of tired lovers, emergence of senses for fleeing souls.

Un viaggio sull'acqua, dai fari del vaporetto emergono nuove realtà di luce.

Il buio stringe i manufatti umani, assottigliandone i confini.

Le deboli luci persistono, nella loro artificiale presenza.

Costruzioni appoggiate su uno specchio rotto.

I frammenti restituiscono immagini, distorte e complesse.

Realtà esistenti, ma coperte alla vista, emergono.

La luce è decorazione bizantina, lampo nella notte, visione nell'oscurità.

I ponti sono fantasie cucite su una tovaglia, le case sull'acqua sono carte da parati, calli e canali catene nere.

Espansione di immagini.

Nella città cartolina, sempre uguale per gli occhi di amanti stanchi, emersione di sensi per le anime in fuga.

Director Biography - Paolo Pandin

Paolo Pandin, born in 1993. Graduated from the Graphic Technical Institute “A. Palladio "of Treviso, then graduated in New Technologies at the Academy of Fine Arts of Venice, passing through the University of Cinema and Theater" IL Caragiale "of Bucharest. From a very young age he became passionate about the audiovisual and entertainment world. He realizes real monologues with a social theme, realizes various reports on the world of the mafia, of voluntary work and concerning the economic crisis. All located in the territory in which he lives, the Treviso area and the Veneto region. Afterwards, he moved into the world of cinematographic experimentation, making several short films within the academic world and video art, always included within the exhibition world of the Venice Academy. Finally, continuing in various parallel activities such as organizing artistic events and Stand Up Comedy, he creates his first audiovisual works that can be defined as mature. The documentary "Badanti" and the experimental film "Hanno Ucciso l'Uomo Ragno". Both products focus on what is real, reread through a montage that creates multiple levels of reading. This is the author's focus: try to create a new audiovisual language that is adherent to reality, approaching the truth, managing to bring out the multiple levels of reading that already exist in the things of the world.
