Varshil Tushar Ajmera's creative journey took a significant turn when he discovered his passion for photography. In 2014, he embarked on an artistic path by enrolling at the prestigious Shari Academy of Professional Photography, where he began honing his photography skills. During his time at the academy, Varshil developed a keen eye for capturing captivating visuals and understanding the intricacies of composition and lighting. He even received the "Best Automobile Photography of the Year" award from The Shari Academy, which was a tremendous achievement at the time.
However, Varshil's hunger for creative expression drove him to explore the realm of filmmaking. As a third-generation creative individual, he has always embraced a continuous learning mindset. To gain practical experience and expand his knowledge, Varshil pursued an internship opportunity in Paris with an acclaimed film director. This invaluable experience in the heart of the cinematic world exposed him to the intricacies of storytelling, camera work, and the collaborative nature of filmmaking.
Upon returning to India, Varshil wasted no time immersing himself in the vibrant film industry, where he swiftly gained recognition as a talented Director of Photography in his city. Over the years, Varshil contributed his cinematography and photography skills to four feature films in India. Additionally, he embraced the role of a director, showcasing his ability to bring stories to life through his unique vision. He directed four commercial short films for prominent companies in the city. Varshil's dedication to his craft and unwavering commitment to excellence led him back to Paris, where he finished his first international music video as a director and DOP. He continued working on various projects and expanded his international presence. Notably, he served as the lead cinematographer and DOP for a wildlife documentary on Netflix, which he shot for an entire year in one of India's best tiger reserves.
Nevertheless, his hunger for the creative process and making films in Hollywood never waned. This motivated him to pursue a film-making course in Vancouver, Canada, which is recognised as one of the world's best cities for the industry. Varshil proved his abilities and skills by challenging himself and embracing traditional filmmaking methods. He firmly believes that the greatest competition one faces is their previous self, always striving to challenge and surpass one's own capabilities.
As Varshil's artistic journey continues to evolve, he remains steadfast in his pursuit of storytelling excellence. Throughout his never-ending creative journey, his parents played the most significant role, consistently supporting him mentally and providing him with the best opportunities he deserved.
