“Vanilla” is a world of men. Rudderless, coping with work, coping with dreams, looking for a quick fix – a distraction from immediate reality. For the most well-adjusted and straight-edge men, the “quick fix” is an orgasm. In a sexually repressed India, the marginally-more liberated urban centres where “educated”, white-collar Indians live; we see a clash between traditional dogma/thoughts and the influence of western hedonism. Furthermore, what is the price of one’s dignity? And does an archaic concept like “dignity” even matter in a world this conflicted and indifferent?
