Vanessa Vann is an Award-winning Editor, Cinematographer, Producer & Director with 10+ years of experience in television, film and live productions. A Self-starter with a comprehensive understanding of the technical operations required in all aspects of research, pre-production, production & post. An innovative creator, specializing in live sporting events, archival research and interviews, with demonstrated ability to take a concept and produce entertaining & inspiring pieces.
Cinematographer/Editor/Producer for “The Curse of the Undead” Vanessa Vann the Cinematographer and Editor (pictured right) has been creating her own productions since the ripe old age of eight. She began writing plays and eventually to videos, films and other multimedia. She attended UC Santa Barbara, and earned a B.A. in Film Studies, with a minor in Women's History. Vanessa obtained her M.A. in American Studies from the California State University, Fullerton. "I chose a Master's degree in a subject outside of traditional filmmaking, as a way to bridge my love of cinema with my passion of cultural studies. I was able to broaden my filmmaking perspective - particularly in regards to documentaries." Vanessa worked at the Community Media Center of the North Bay and the Santa Rosa Junior College, producing multimedia for and about the community. She then transitioned to network television, working in Production and the Audience Departments at NBC/Universal and ITV Studios. Now, as a freelance filmmaker, Vanessa can direct her talents to specific projects that speak to her on a much deeper level.
