VANESSA REISER is a filmmaker based in Austin, Texas. She graduated from New York University's Tisch School of the Arts in 1999, where she studied documentary films with the legendary filmmaker George Stoney, and was immediately hooked. Vanessa spent the first part of her career as an editor, which has greatly informed her eye as a director in creating visually compelling stories. Committed to showing the vulnerability of the human experience, Vanessa has covered wide-ranging topics, such as people afflicted with Parkinson’s disease, a community bird colony nurturer, children born with rare diseases, incarcerated women’s emotional healing, birth workers, and a spiritual Texas artist who finds the majesty of beauty in everything. Vanessa’s clients over the past 23 years have included the University of Texas at Austin, L'Oreal, Lumos Pharma, the San Angelo Museum of Fine Arts, Tamron USA, PBS and Heart Gallery NYC. Vanessa is currently working on a feature length documentary about a collaboration between two Austin musicians to create an Austin Symphony world premiere concerto for jazz trumpet and orchestra.
