Valery Zmak is a Russian writer currently living in Bulgaria. He is the author of detective novels, famous film novels "Time of the First", "Icebreaker", "Lev Yashin", "Pilot Nine Ayers", as well as many stories published in Russian-language anthologies and magazines of the USA, Israel, Ukraine and Russia.
Before the Russian invasion of Ukraine, he successfully worked under the pseudonym "Valery Sharapov" and headed one of the most popular detective series on the Russian book market - "Alarming Spring 45th". In February 2022, he refused to cooperate with publishers and media of the Russian Federation.
He is a member of the Writers' Union of Russia and the Writers' Union of North America.
Laureate of the National Literary Prize "Golden Pen of Russia" in the nomination "Prosa".
