FSU College of Motion Picture Arts Alum
After a childhood of not seeing anyone on the big screen who looked like her, Valerie Betts’ goal as a filmmaker is to create diverse content which uplift under-represented communities. As a cinematographer, she has worked on everything from documentaries, music videos to short films and throughout it all she harnesses the power of visual storytelling to create meaning behind every shot and propel the central story. Valerie has a strong sense of who she is as an artist after her years of experience and always aims to make sure the younger version of herself would find solace in her films.
