Vacancy
Ten-year-old Reid (Jordan Anderson) is spending the summer of 1982 far from home, stuck at a remote roadside motel with his parents (Elise Robertson, Robert Wesley). With little to do and plenty of time to do it, boredom is never more than a few steps behind – but when the captivating Tiffany (Gina DeVivo) checks in with her family, Reid suddenly finds himself with way too much on his mind. VACANCY is a meditation on the banal nature of loneliness, heartache, and the inevitable loss of innocence; Combustible Celluloid's Jeffrey M. Anderson declares "the film effectively captures an intense feeling of loneliness and sweet pathos" and praises its "touching performances".
