1) SOBRE LA INSCRIPCIÓN
a) La inscripción a las 3 categorías de competencia internacional se realizará a través de las plataformas Festhome y Filmfreeway. Las bases se podrán visualizar en nuestra web: festivalrender.com.
b) La convocatoria tienes 4 periodos de fecha:
i) 1ra fecha: Del 01/09 al 23/09- gratuito
ii) 2da fecha: Del 24/09 al 14/10 - 3 USD
iii) 3ra fecha: Del 15/10 al 04/11 - 5 USD
iv) 4ta fecha: Del 05/11 al 30/11 - 7 USD
c) La recepción de obras inicia el 1 de setiembre a las 18:00 hrs y termina el 30 de noviembre a las 23:59 hrs.
d) La convocatoria está abierta para estudiantes o egresadxs de cualquier parte del mundo, de carreras universitarias, escuelas de cine y programas especializados de formación.
e) Se considera egresadx a las personas que hayan culminado estudios desde diciembre del 2022 en adelante. La obra postulada debe haberse realizado durante su etapa universitaria.
2. SOBRE LAS OBRAS:
a) La duración de la obra no podrá exceder los 30 minutos, incluyendo créditos.
b) Se aceptan piezas audiovisuales de cualquier género e idioma (en caso la obra no se haya realizado en español, deberá incluir subtítulos incrustados en el idioma mencionado).
c) Las temáticas y formatos de registro son libres, deberán ser obras originales, y realizadas luego del 1 de enero de 2022.
d) Para que la obra sea admitida, como mínimo, el 70% de integrantes de la producción deberán ser estudiantes vigentes o egresados procedentes de instituciones educativas.
e) Para la competencia internacional, en cualquiera de sus 3 categorías, directores y productores de las obras deberán encontrarse en calidad de estudiantes o egresadxs.
f) Cada participante posee la libertad de enviar la cantidad de obras que considere conveniente, sin embargo, de obtener una selección, solo se admitirá una (01) obra por autorx, como parte de la selección oficial en una (01) de las categorías de competencia.
3. SOBRE LAS SECCIONES:
La convocatoria a cortometrajes en competencia internacional del V Festival de Cine Universitario RENDER está abierta para las secciones:
a) Ficción:
Se considera ficción a todas las obras que propongan una simulación de la realidad desde la mirada de sus autores, una simulación que guarda relación con la realidad sea por similitud, contraste o transformación.
b) No ficción:
Se considera no ficción a las obras que se enmarquen dentro de un hecho veráz y comprobable, extrayendo de la realidad circundante, premisas fundamentales que se desarrollan en la obra audiovisual.
c) Experimental:
Se considera experimental, a las obras que presentan formas no usuales construcción de la obra, más bien se presentan como disruptoras del lenguaje audiovisual clásico ya establecido. Cada obra recorre una exploración propia, personal y de determinado elemento, concepto
4. SOBRE LA SELECCIÓN:
a) El equipo de programación del festival, en cada categoría realizará una preselección de las obras recibidas. Posteriormente, la terna de juradxs, conformado por tres profesionales del audiovisual, evaluará las obras acuerdo a su criterio. La decisión del juradx, es única e inapelable.
b) El jurado otorgará el reconocimiento a mejor obra por categoría cinematográfica, también realizará menciones honrosas o distinciones técnicas, de considerarlas necesarias.
c) La selección oficial del jurado será comunicada el 3 de febrero del 2024, a través de las redes sociales y la página web del festival. El mismo día los seleccionados recibirán un correo con indicaciones a seguir.
d) Los cortometrajes seleccionados deberán ser subidos a la plataforma indicada en el correo de comunicación de selección, en un plazo no mayor a 5 días hábiles posteriores a la comunicación de selección, en formato .mov o .mp4, códec de video H.264 y en resolución Full HD 1920 x 1080, además se incluirá la siguiente documentación y materiales:
i) Clip de película
ii) Material promocional de la obra:
- Trailer oficial
- Afiche oficial
- 3 fotogramas de la película
- 3 fotografías del making off
- 1 fotografía del director
iii) Ficha técnica
iv) Licencia de exhibición rellenada
e) Una vez seleccionada la obra en alguna categoría del festival, no podrá ser retirada de su programación.
f) Lxs autorxs de las obras seleccionadas ceden los derechos de comunicación pública al festival Render y otorgan su permiso para su exhibición virtual y presencial durante el marco del festival y en posteriores actividades de difusión (previa comunicación) que realice la organización.
g) Lxs autorxs de las obras que resulten ganadoras se comprometen a utilizar los laureles del festival en el respectivo material publicitario, exhibiciones o proyecciones futuras.
h) Los casos no previstos en las bases serán resueltos por RENDER, en su calidad de ente organizador, el hecho de participar conlleva la aceptación total de las bases.

ENGLISH VERSION
1. ABOUT REGISTRATION
a) Registration for the 3 international competition categories will be done through Festhome and Filmfreeway platforms. Rules can be found on our website: festivalrender.com.
b) The call has 4 registration periods:
i) First date: Del 01/09 al 23/09 - free of charge
ii) Second date: Del 24/09 al 14/10 - 3 USD

c) The reception of films begins on September 1 at 18:00 hrs and ends on November 30 at 23:59 hrs.
d) The call is open to students or graduates from any part of the world, from universities, film schools and specialized training programs.
e) Graduates are those who have completed their studies from December 2022 onwards. The film nominated must have been produced during their university studies.
2. ABOUT THE FILMS
a) The duration of the film may not exceed 30 minutes, including credits.
b) Audiovisual pieces of any genre and language are accepted (in case the work has not been produced in Spanish, it must include embedded subtitles in the afore mentioned language).
c) The themes and formats of registration are free, they must be original films, and made after January 1, 2022.
d) For the film to be admitted, at least 70% of the members of the production must be current students or graduates from educational institutions.
e) For the international competition, in any of its 3 categories, directors and producers of the works must be students or graduates of educational institutions.
f) Each participant is free to send as many works as he/she deems convenient, however, if selected, only one (01) work per author will be admitted as part of the official selection in one (01) of the competition categories.
3. ON THE SECTIONS
The call for short films in international competition of the V RENDER University Film Festival is open for the following sections:
- Fiction: Fiction is considered to be all films that propose a simulation of reality from the authors' point of view, a simulation that is related to reality either by similarity, contrast or transformation.
- Non-fiction: Non-fiction is considered to be films that are framed within a verifiable and verifiable fact, extracting from the surrounding reality, fundamental premises that are developed in the audiovisual work.
- Experimental: It is considered experimental, to the works that present unusual forms of construction of the work, rather they are presented as disruptive of the classic audiovisual language already established. Each work goes through its own personal exploration of a certain element or concept.
4. ABOUT SELECTION
a) The festival's programming team, in each category, will make a pre-selection of the works received. Subsequently, the panel of three jurors, made up of three audiovisual professionals, will evaluate the works according to their criteria. The jury's decision is unique and unappealable.
b) The jury will award the best work by cinematographic category, and will also make honorable mentions or technical distinctions, if deemed necessary.
c) The official selection will be announced on February 3, 2024, through the festival's social networks and website. On the same day, those selected will receive an email with instructions to follow.
d) The selected short films must be uploaded to the platform indicated in the selection communication email, within 5 working days after the selection communication, in mov or mp4 format, H.264 video codec and in Full HD 1920 x 1080 resolution, and the following documentation and materials will also be included:
- Film clip
- Promotional material of the work:
(1) Official trailer
(2) Official poster
(3) Three stills from the film
(4) Three photographs of the making of the film
(5) One photograph of the director
- Technical data
- Completed exhibition license
e) Once the film has been selected in any of the festival's categories, it cannot be withdrawn from the festival's program.
f) The authors of the selected film transfer the rights of public communication to Render Festival and grant their permission for their virtual and in-person exhibition during the festival and in subsequent dissemination activities (prior communication) carried out by the organization.
g) The authors of the winning film commit themselves to use the laurels of the festival in the respective publicity material, exhibitions or future screenings.
h) Cases not foreseen in the rules will be resolved by RENDER, as the organizing entity, the fact of participating implies the total acceptance of the rules.
5. ABOUT THE AWARDS
a) The festival will award the winners with a certificate and a trophy in recognition of the best film in each category.
b) The winning films (1 film per category) will have the option to be awarded the preparation and execution of a distribution plan for a period of 12 months from the award ceremony.
c) The festival's premise is to be a space for film education and discussion, so all the films that are part of the official selection of the VI edition in all categories of competition, will receive personalized feedback from each member of the jury corresponding to their category, regarding their film.
