VERLOREN HORIZON - LOST HORIZONS

A short fiction story about Younes; a young refugee from Libya who is searching for his identity after having stayed and grown up in Belgium for over 10 years.
Younes' father stayed behind in his homeland, since then they have had no contact. Younes has since fully integrated as a citizen of Ghent, but after the death of his mother, things begin to gnaw. After all, he had promised his father to return to Libya as soon as the situation became safer.
Younes is faced with a dilemma: choosing between his new life here in Belgium or his family who stayed behind. With mixed feelings, he decides to take the plunge anyway. He sets out to find his lost family, at the risk of never returning to Europe.
Soon comes the realization that "home" is not a place, but a feeling. Whether he is still convinced of his decision and or how his search ends remains to be seen....
