Writer Biography - Isak Allen, Jeffrey Berner

Isak Allen graduated with a degree in Neuroscience, a triple minor in Biology, Psychology, and German, then said, "Mom, Dad...I want to make it in California."

Isak has shared the stage with comedy greats like Bill Burr, Joe Rogan, Tom Papa, Joey Diaz, Taylor Williamson, and Drew Lynch. He can be seen on Season 2 of the HBO series Westworld, as well as a few commercials by T-Mobile, State Farm, and others. He has also been touring clubs and colleges since the release of his highly anticipated 2023 debut comedy special from DryBar Comedy “Culturally Unavailable”.

Isak’s short film “The Impossible Choice” premiered at the Austin Comedy Film Festival in 2021 where it was up for Best Ensemble Cast. He can also be seen on the hit YouTube series, “Anime Crimes Division” (over 1.6 million views) and is a writer/actor on the web series “LOL Parenting”.

Writer Statement

In an age of shows like Rick & Morty that constantly push the boundaries of strangeness, heart, and meta and referential humor, Jeffrey Berner and I wanted to write a show that is similar stylistically from the concept of tropes. Audiences complain so much about getting what they expect when it comes to viewing, yet watch the same formulaic shows over and over. By addressing these tropes head-on and building a world around them, we are trying to create an unexpected journey based on what it expected. Welcome to Utropia!
