Eric’s filmmaking captures the beating heart of a story. With a strong background in theatre as an actor/ director/ kids performer/ writer and producer- he knows whether a story should utilize conventional methods or be unleashed with wild imagination.
The song Urban Chime emotes a refreshing throw back to the 1970's, mixing smooth sentimentality with an exotic twist. Its lyrics share the social isolation we can feel when arriving in a new city. This inspired the Mime character, naturally isolating themselves with the barrier of conversation and assuming the role of a performer. If our Mime can find a way to remove the performer and audience relationship, then they'll find real interactions and friendships. Since Steve Barker wrote this song about his own feelings of isolation in Toronto as a young man, it was only fitting to present him as a Storyteller sharing his story for the benefit of the listener and that's why the music video presents him in a shroud of mystery.
